About Our Rescue Group:

Gulf Coast Golden Retriever Rescue Inc., (GCGRRinc.) is an all volunteer, 501(c)3, non-profit organization devoted to the rescue, foster care, and placement of displaced Golden Retrievers who have been abandoned, abused, or surrendered by their owners.

We are also committed to educating the public regarding spay and neuter programs, responsible pet ownership, care of the Golden Retriever, and the forever lasting rewards of fostering and adopting a Golden.

Come Meet our Pets:

All of our dogs are placed in Golden experienced Foster Homes who provide not only love and care, but a comprehensive evaluation of the Golden's behavior and temperment. We do not have a public boarding facility. Once you have identified a dog of interest and have an approved Application with us, you will be able to schedule a visit to the foster home and the first meeting with your new family member.

Our Adoption Process:

Once we receive and review your Application for Adoption,
one of our Volunteers will contact you for an "over the phone" interview. If all goes well with the interview, we will schedule a home visit by one of our volunteers. We ask that ALL family members be home for the visit. That includes your two legged AND 4 legged family members!

Once a match is made based upon the application, interview and home visit, you will have the opportunity to talk with the foster family.

If all parties agree that the match is a good one, an appointment will be set up for you to meet the dog. If all goes well with the meeting, a contract will need to be signed and your adoption will be complete!
Adoption fees are on a sliding scale according to the dog's age and medical needs.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
