Pets at Our Shelter:

Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We primarily serve Indian River County but we do go all over the state of Florida for home visits, rescues and even have had transports out of state when we have the space to take them.

About Our Shelter:

H.A.L.O. Rescue is a NO KILL, NON PROFIT animal shelter with a mission to make Indian River County a safe place for animals. We are solely supported by private contributions and through our services. All tips and money you give goes back to the rescue animals. By continued support with your pets boarding, grooming, and supply needs not only are you leaving your pet in excellent care, you are saving the lives of others.
From the animals and staff at H.A.L.O. Rescue, THANK YOU for continuing the dream!
Why did we start this program?
We began this rescue shelter as a family dream of giving back to those that give so much to us. With a lot of love, sweat, and tears our dream is expanding. We have finally found the facility and caring staff to make this rescue center possible. We are a close family comprised of the director Jacque Petrone, and staff Dave Altman, Denys Ballina, Melissa Becht, Stacey Cummins, Marshall Kolmel, Christine Sanders, and Nancy Robinson.

What Supports our Facility?
H.A.L.O. Rescue is not funded through any state or local government programs. Nor do we receive any funding from the United Way. We are a 501(3) non-profit organization that is entirely funded through memberships, donations, estate bequests, municipal contracts, and fund-raising events. We are very dependent on donations from our friends and supporters who share our belief that every animal deserves the opportunity to be adopted into a loving home. Our success depends on you. You allow us to exist and are the force that saves these animals. Your generous support of H.A.L.O. Rescue will help us to feed and care for our local pets until they are adopted into a loving home.

B. BOARDING, GROOMING, FULL SERVICE PEST CONTROL, PET SITTING, AND SUPPLIES- all profits and tips from our services and supplies goes directly into the shelter.

We do have an adoption form verifying information on adoptors and for dogs we do home visits to make sure they fit in well with all the family members and other pets.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
