Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees start at $125 cash (we do not take checks or credit cards). All adoption fees help to off set the cost of FIV/FELV testing, the spay/neuter, vaccinations, worming, ear cleaning, microchip, flea/ear mite treatment and other vet bills. We do require that pre-adopt paperwork is filled out. (The Pre-Adopt does not guarantee that you will get the animal) We strive to give them the best of care they deserve including proper vet care whenever needed. All dogs & cats are HW tested and shots are up to date when adopted, ALL are spayed & neutered, and are in good health to the best of our ability.

About Randolph Co. Humane Society-South County Felines

We are a No-Kill Shelter that operates solely on donations, we get NO State, Local or Government help. Our adoptable cats are at the Adoption Center of South County PetsMart, but we also rely on the kindness of a network of foster homes, and we are always in need of more fosters, as well as volunteers to help at our adoption center. We strive to continue to save and rescue the many of neglected, abused, or forgotten animals so they have a soft place to lay their heads. We strive to find them loving forever homes that will take the time, patience and understanding that they so deserve in their new beginning of life and never be tossed into a shelter situation again. WE CARE VERY MUCH FOR EVERY SINGLE ANIMAL as if it is our own.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
