We are based in the Amsterdam, NY area. We attempt to adopt with in a 60 mile radius but have made exceptions.

About Our Rescue Group:

We are a small rescue group made up of a few people who care deeply about animals and help dogs of a good temperament to find their forever homes. Some of our dogs have lost their owner, their owner had to surrender them, they have been a bad situation or they came in as a stray. Some shelters will ask us to help with special needs dogs who may need more nurturing. When we do accept a dog into our rescue we spend time getting to know them and working with them. The are vetted, groomed and we know a great deal about them. Often they are a "new" dog !

Come Meet our Pets:

If you see a dog posted that you may be interested in please email us at keeperrescue@gmail.com and we will take it from there !! Many of our dogs are in foster homes so we need to set up "meet 'n greet" times for people and pets that we feel may be a good match.

Our Adoption Process:

We are very particular where and with whom we place our dogs and we have an excellent success rate. We require that an application be submitted to us and we also require a home visit. Adopters also must sign an adoption contract when a dog is placed with them. Our adoption donation requirements range from $200.00 - $300.00 (all dogs have been vetted) depending on the particular dog and are set by Keeper Rescue..........We reserve the right to not approve any appplicant that we feel will not be a match for a particular dog or any dog in our rescue...... Some dogs may get many applicants and we must then choose. If you wish we will contact you if we have another dog that might be for you........................

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
