We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: We serve the North Texas area, primarily the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. We do not do out of state adoptions. Our weekly adoption location is at the Hurst PetSmart near North East Mall.

About Our Rescue Group

Kool Kats is a non-profit animal rescue and adoption organization, located in the North Texas area. We are dedicated to the rescue and placement (adoptions) of cats. Our founding members, Shelley Hartman and Sarah Wateska have given over 10 years of their lives and personal time to cat rescue. We are a totally VOLUNTEER cat rescue group of friends. Kool Kats is our passion.
Most of our adult cats and kittens come from area animal shelters (awaiting EUTHANASIA) and from individuals who can no longer care for their animals due to unforeseen circumstances. Kool Kats is also dedicated to educating the public about the plight of millions of homeless, abused and unwanted animals and about the importance of spay and neutering. We also give "Special Needs" cats a chance. 100% of our adoption fees and donations go towards the care of our animals.

We have several of our available Cats and Kittens on display at the PetSmart in Hurst and we hold adoptions every Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.
If there is a cat or kitten you see online that you would like to meet, please email us and we will do our best to arrange a meet and greet as soon as possible.

Our Adoption Process

If you are interested in adopting one of our cats, please download our application form or fill out our online adoption form.

Our adoption fee is $125 for kittens and $100 for cats.
This fee covers the following:
Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Aids (FIV) Test
3 FVRCP (Distemper) vaccinations
2 Feline Leukemia (FeLV) vaccinations
1 Rabies vaccination
Spay or Neutering
Deworming

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
