We are located in Douglasville, approximately 25 minutes west of Atlanta on Interstate 20. Our shelter services all citizens of Douglas County.

Our shelter is operated by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners (BOC). We strive to educate our county citizens by providing information about low-cost spay/neuter options and general information about responsible pet ownership.

Our Adoption Process:

Adoption fees are $35.00 per animal. This includes the adoption fee plus a HomeAgain microchip implantation and registration. The adopter must sign a contract and agree to get the animal spayed or neutered and a rabies vaccine by the date stated on the contract. We take cash or check only.

Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
