About Our Rescue Group:

Swine Society, Inc. is a no kill rescue organization, providing a safe haven for pigs, and other animals, to live out their lives comfortably should they not be adopted into loving homes.

Our main objective is to work with animal shelters, humane societies, animal control, pet pig owners and the public to rescue unwanted, neglected, abused, or abandoned pigs and place them in safe and loving homes.

We advocate for the removal of any pig(s) known to be in unsafe, unsanitary, or unhealthy conditions until, at which time, the premises have been made safe for the animal to return, or the owner relinquishes rights of the animal to Swine Society, Inc. or another reputable animal shelter or facility.

We assist in educating the public on proper diet, nutrition, care, and maintenance of pet pigs and will ensure adoption candidates are educated in this knowledge as well as familiar interacting with pigs before allowing a pig to be placed in their home.

Through exposure to the public we continue to work to educate others to the wonders and realities of these delightful animals as companions.

Come Meet our Pets:

We are currently running the sanctuary out of our home and so we require an appointment to view our animals. We do have a calendar of events at our website so you can see when we might be available. Please contact us for more information!

Our Adoption Process:

We have an application filled out first. We require new pig parents to make 3 visits to our shelter before a pig will be placed with them. This is to verify their knowledge and confirm that after spending some time with pigs that they still want to invite one into their home. A home visit is next and then their is the adoption agreement. Fees vary based on animal expenses incurred.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

farm-type animals can make wonderful pets, and rather than buying a farm-type animal for sale or finding a farm-type animal breeder, adopting a farm-type animal from an animal shelter or rescue organization is the perfect way to add a farm-type animal to your family. Keep in mind, there is a lot you will need to know when you provide a home for a farm-type animal. You will need to learn what to feed them, how much exercise or attention your farm-type animal needs, and many other important things about how to house and care for a farm-type animal. There are different types of farm-type animals including Alpaca, Cow or Bull, Goat, Llama, Pig (Farm), Pig (Potbellied), and Sheep.
