About Our Rescue Group:

We are a small veterans nonprofit our mission is to help those in need including animals.Because so many homeless veterans have pets we saw the need to help thier pets receive proper nutrition and vet care hence Vets-Pets & Kids. We have joined the fight against overpopultion via Educating the public & homeless about the benefits of neutering pets. We now work with trappers to rescue the kittens of ferral colonies. We trap the adults "TNR" if they are friendlies we then give all needed vet care and neuter, once healthy all cats & kittens are put up for adoption. The dogs and puppies we rescue are socialized and begin basic training. (Our kittens are also harness and leash trained hey the students love it. Nothing like sitting for a discussion with a kitten in your lap.) If adopter lives close enough I offer continued training for the pups & dogs for donations to help other animals in need.
As a veterinary assisting instructor it has always been my heart felt desire to educate the young to be responsible pet owners. Each year I have the honor of sharing my knowledge and expertise on the welfare of animals to teenagers and adults. It is because of my love of animals and desire to provide companions to those in need that allows me to work long hours and spend many a sleepless night to help heal the sick and injuried. The reward is seeing a child's eyes light or the warm smile of a senior when they hold or pet their new furry friend.

We are in need of donations towards spay & neuter cost. Desparate need for foster homes we have many kittens under going medical treatments. We are able to test all cats and dogs for Feluk/FIV, Heartworms, fecal exams and give their deworming, FVRCP , Bordetella, DHLPP-C all of which is costly. We are partnered with vet assisting students so it is a win-win situation the kids learn and the animals are well cared for. Our vets do the exams, spay /neuter and rabies vaccines or any other type of vet care. The students and I do the rest.

Our Adoption Process:

We use an adoption contract. We will explain everthing we know about each animal. For example if there are any health issues or social issues. We want to make sure the adopter is ready and able to care for their new pet. We have a $60.00 adoption fee for cats and kittens and $80.00 adoption fee for dogs and puppies with a 30 day refund fee if it is not a good match. Remember we want to make sure both pet and adopter are happy. All animals come with a complete copy of their medical records. All animals of required weight/age are neutered before adopting. If an animal is adopted before it is neuter because of age we will do a follow up to make sure adopter has pet neutered. If adopter chooses to have pet neutered at his/her clinic we required a copy of the neuter certificate sent to our office within 1 month of surgery. We do offer to make arrangements for our animals to be neutered even if they have been adopted already. Remember we only adopt to responsible pet people who believe in spay/neutering programs.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
