We are an open admissions shelter meaning that we turn no pet away. We serve the following counties: Knox, Whitley, McCreary, and Clay. We also serve the following cities: Williamsburg, Corbin, Barbourville, and Manchester.
About Our
Shelter:
We are a non-profit organization that relies on donations to keep the doors open. We take in between six and seven thousand animals a year. We have a staff of three full time employees and three part time employees. We are in need of volunteers as well as foster families right now. Our wish list is for dog food, puppy food, cat food, cat litter, leashes, collars, flea shampoo, food bowls, water bottles, water buckets, small plastic baskets used for cat beds, bleach, and dishwashing liquid. There are many more things that we can use but this is what we need the most. Our organization was started in an effort to promote responsible pet ownership and humane public behavior towards animals and to provide a safe haven for stray and homeless animals. To operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes for the preventin of cruelty to animals. We acknowledge the great need for public awareness that promotes responsible pet ownership and also acknowledge the great need for a safe place of refuge for stray and homeless animals.
Come Meet our Pets:
We are located at 3100 Meadow Creek Road in Rockholds, Ky. Our hours of operation for drop-offs are Tuesday thru Friday from 10:00 am til 3:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00am til 12:00am. Our hours of operations for adoptions are Tuesday from 10:00am til 6:00pm, Wednesday thru Friday from 10:00 am til 5:00 pm, and on Saturday from 10:00 am til 3:00 pm. We are closed on Sunday and Monday. We hold mobil adoptions almost every weekend during the summer hours at different locations throughout the counties. Also we are traveling to Petsmart in Richmond, KY once a month during the winter months to set up mobil adoptions. Our Adoption Process:
Our adoption fee is $39.00 for cats and $59.00 for dogs, with this adoption fee a voucher is included to have your pet spayed or neutered if it isn't already. The puppies have already had their first vaccine and have been wormed as well. You are required to fill out an application and have a valid drivers license or identification card at the time of the adoption.
