Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:
We are a local county humane society serving the Marion Area.
Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
Come Meet our Pets:
The Marion Area Humane Society animal shelter is open to the public M-F 1pm-6pm and Saturdays 11am-4pm. Please visit mahspets.org for adoption event details!
