Humane Hearts Rescue & Education
About Our Rescue Group
Humane Hearts Rescue & Education believes that 'compassion for all living things begins with education'. We focus on finding homes for the homeless pets in the Fauquier County area and provide character education that encourages empahty and compassion for humans, animals and the environment at the local area pre-schools. Our goal for the future is to be able to host youth summer camps and birthday events that focus on humane education.

Our Adoption Process
Our adoption process begins with a submitted application. The application is reviewed and a veterinary reference is checked as well as a minimum of two personal references. Homes are not approved on a first come first serve basis. Homes are approved on the best fit for the pet and the family, although applications are reviewed and considered in the order they come in. Home visits are required for all dog adoptions and a follow up home visit will be scheduled for all cat/kitten adoptions within two weeks of bringing home your new pet. All pets will be current on age appropriate vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered depending on their age. If they are too young at the time of adoption, a spay/neuter certificate is provided for discount surgery. Adoption fees vary depending on the specieis, pets age and if already spayed/neutered (between $65-$125)
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and you'll
have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting
a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats
for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs
and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of
dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed
is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten
breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat
or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt
a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane
society or pet rescue group.
