We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: CLC RR provides options to homeless pets of Carbon County, WY and the surrounding region in an effort to encourage a no-kill community. We adopt locally to approved adopters and will adopt out of state to an approved adopter if a home visit with an affiliate rescue agency can be arranged.
Caring-Learning-Connecting Rescue and Rehabilitation
About Our Rescue Group
CLC RR advocates for retaining existing homes through programs that address behavioral issues, and as available we offer access to a food bank or financial assistance for routine and emergency veterinary care or referral to other agencies providing low cost spay/neuter and vaccinations. We also provide options for homeless pets of the region surrounding Rawlins, WY- focusing on the rural areas that do not have shelters, yet often have stray animals. We partner with other agencies to provide more exposure for all of the adoptable animals in the region.
The founder of CLC RR is a certified pet dog trainer and a graduate of the Animal Behavior College. She is a member of the APDT, and is currently working on accreditation with the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers as an applied animal behaviorist.
In the practical shelter work required as part of her training, she noticed that there were limited options for animals throughout Carbon County and the vast rural regions of WY. She also noticed that often shelters and rescue agencies struggle with providing the animals proper engagement because of limited staffing and resources, which can create an increase in stress and behavioral issues that would be non-existant or easily resolved with a different environment. It is a goal to provide these other agencies with programs that are manageable for the limitations faced by such organizations, in order to improve the adoptability of their pets and retention in the adoptive homes.
Come Meet our Pets
Because CLC RR does not yet have a facility, we rely on foster homes or boarding facilities to help us provide immediate and long term shelter for the animals. If you see an animal you wish to meet, please submit an application, and we will contact you to make arrangements to meet the animal. We encourage these meetings to include all family members, including other pets!
Our Adoption Process
An application must be submitted and reviewed by our application committee. In most circumstances (especially out of town/state adoptions) we require a home visit. Depending on the animal's circumstances we may also require that the adopter pre-register with an approved behaviorist or trainer in their area. Our adoption fees are not set, it depends on the animal and the costs of rehabilitation, but generally between $100-$200. The adoptive family must then complete an adoption contract prior to assuming guardianship of the animal.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and you'll
have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting
a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats
for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs
and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of
dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed
is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten
breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat
or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt
a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane
society or pet rescue group.
