About Our Rescue Group:

Upward Dog Rescue was founded in January 2012 and is based in Carlsbad, CA.

Our mission is to create a better world for dogs in Southern California. To do this, we will save adoptable dogs that would be destroyed soley due to overcrowding, and provide them loving foster homes until forever families can be found. We will provide all interim veterinary care, and spay or neuter all of our rescued dogs. We will also strive to educate the public on the unfortunate realities of pet overpopulation. This is our chance to help innocent animals and make a difference. Will you join us?

Saving one animal won’t change the world, but it will change the world for that one animal.

Our Adoption Process:

We welcome your phone call or email and do not require an application to find out more information about one of our pets. An adoption application with references is required to set up a meet and greet introduction. All dogs are adopted on a 14-day foster-to-adopt trial period. Fees vary and are disclosed on each dog's profile.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
