About Our
Rescue
Group:
A group of local pet rat owners had met through an online forum for rat owners and, at Therese's urging, ultimately decided to formalize efforts to find homes for unwanted pet rats. The group of friends joined together to form Any Rat Rescue in the spring of 2004.
Any Rat Rescue (ARR) operates as a network of foster homes throughout the Valley. ARR is incorporated in the State of Arizona and is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The rescue, which is dedicated to finding loving, forever homes for any rat in need, now facilitates adoptions for more than 150 pet rats per year.
Come Meet our Pets:
We are often at community events and we post that information on our webpage anyratrescue.org You may also call and set up appointment to go to our foster homes and visit the rats in our care.
Our Adoption Process:
There is a short questioaire that we ask adopters to fill out as well as the adoption contract and a donation of adopters choosing.
Why should you adopt?
small animals can make wonderful pets, and rather than buying a small animal for sale or finding a small animal breeder, adopting a small animal from
an animal shelter or rescue organization is the perfect way to add a small animal to your family.
Keep in mind, there is a lot you will need to know when you provide a home for
a small animal. You will need to learn what to feed them, how much exercise or
attention your small animal needs, and many other important things about how to
house and care for a small animal. There are different types of small animals
including Chinchilla, Degu, Ferret, Gerbil, Guinea Pig, Hamster, Hedgehog, Mouse, Prairie Dog, Rat, Skunk, and Sugar Glider.
Pet adoption saves lives. Adopt a pet and you'll have a friend for life! Please consider a rescue pet before you buy a pet from a breeder or pet store. Contact us, or contact another local humane society, animal shelter or SPCA.
