We are located in El Dorado Hills, Ca and typically serve the surrounding areas. We are more than happy to adopt out to people living anywhere in the United States but you must be able to pick the animal up from us. We will not ship or deliver our dogs. We will not ship our livestock but may deliver to the surrounding areas for an additional fee.

The First step of the adoption process is to fill out our adoption application at http://thegracefoundation.com/adopt If your application is approved:

For Dog adoptions:
You will be contacted to set up a time to come out and meet the dog. If you decide to adopt the dog there is a $150 adoption fee to be paid at the time of adoption. You will also be required to sign an adoption agreement. We reserve the right to do a house check before adoption or during the trial period. You will be given a one week trial period during which you may return the dog for a full refund if things are not working out.

For Cat adoptions:
You will be contacted to set up a time to come out and meet the cat. If you decide to adopt the cat there is a non-refundable $75 adoption fee to be paid at the time of adoption. You will also be required to sign an adoption agreement.

For Livestock adoptions:
You will be contacted to step up a time for us to do a ranch check. If your property passes the ranch check we will set up a time for you to meet the animal(s). There is an adoption fee required at the time of adoption. The fee will vary depending on the type of Livestock and can be anywhere between $50 and $500. Horses are typically $250 or $500 depending on their ability to be ridden.

The Grace Foundation of Northern California is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit organization that provides critical care and rehabilitation for abused and neglected animals and utilizes our rescued animals for assisted learning and therapeutic programs for children, youth and adults. The animals that are not used in our learning programs are adopted out. This includes horses, dogs, cats, goats, pigs, chickens and cows.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
