Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

Rottweiler Hearts Rescue (RHR) is a regional rescue/placement organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and careful re-homing of neglected, lost, surrendered, or otherwise homeless Rottweiler dogs in the central North Carolina region. Concurrently, RHR is dedicated to preventing this by education of responsible dog ownership regarding the proper care and training of Rottweilers.

About Our Rescue Group:

RHR is an all-volunteer rescue organization with seasoned rescuers who have been rescuing and placing Rottweiler dogs for many years. None of RHRís officers, directors, or volunteers receives any salary or compensation in any manner whatsoever. Additionally, all administrative costs are kept to a minimum as every penny spent on administration is considered money taken away from the dogs.
Who area the Ďheartsí in Rottweiler Hearts Rescue, you ask? We are five experienced Rottweiler owners and rescuer. Not one of us will hesitate to step in when needed and do what we need to do to help a dog. All the directors are extremely familiar with Rottweilers and all the traits with which they come. We firmly believe in positive reinforcement. We know there are times when you may need assistance with one of RHR's rotties. We are there for you. If we need to take the dog into one of our homes for more one-on-one training, we can do that as well.

Come Meet our Pets:

We do at least two "Meet a Rottie" events per month. Check our website's Events Calendar (www.rottweilerheartsrescue.org/EventsCalendar.html) and our Facebook (www.facebook.com/RottweilerHeartsRescue) for all the dates, times, and locations.

Our Adoption Process:

The RHR adoption application is part of a multi-step process. Once we get your completed adoption application, the RHR Adoption Committee will contact your veterinarian and personal references. Meanwhile, a home visit with you and your family will be scheduled and completed before RHR can consider approval of the adoption application. Our goal is to have this process completed within 10 days. After that, a meet and greet between the dog, you, and your family must take place. The RHR Adoption Contract must be completed and approved. Payment for $200 can be made via money order, cashierís check, PayPal, cash, or personal check, must be received by RHR before the adoption can be completed. Rottweiler Hearts Rescue reserves the right to deny any application for any reason.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
