About Our Rescue Group:

We are long time rescuers, starting back in 1998. Every year thousands upon thousands of animals die across our country. After doing rescue work for many years and working with all types of animals, we realized that too many people purchase or adopt puppies without thinking about the breed. This usually ends badly by the puppy getting moved from home to home or being dumped in a shelter. Herding dogs are very active and require a job or they will become destructive. We want to see every dog live out his or her life in one home, and we are willing to help you with that. We do offer one-on-one training sessions to assist you with behavior problems or just basic obedience. By doing this, we can cut down on the number of our beloved pets being given up. If interested in training, please email us with a description of your problem. We will get back with you and give you an estimate. Funds brought in from training go back into the rescues.

We are a no-kill group. The only time euthanasia is used is when advised by a veterinarian and that is for health related reasons.

Come Meet our Pets:

At this time, we do not have a shelter. We simply operate out of our homes. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs or puppies available, we will be happy to send you an adoption application and, once approved, set up a time for you to meet them.

Our Adoption Process:

* If interested in adopting, please email luv4herders@hotmail.com for an application. We will respond to you as quickly as possible. If you have not received a response within 72hrs, please email again as we may not have received your inquiry.

*All dogs and puppies are altered, if old enough, and up to date on vetting, according to age. They are to be indoor pets only. If you are adopting a puppy that is too young to be altered, you will be required to sign a spay/neuter agreement and we will follow up. The adoption fee is set at $150, unless stated otherwise. A contract will be required at the time of adoption.

****NOTE**** We will offer special adoption events, that may include discounted adoption fees, throughout the year. They will be posted on this page.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help get homeless pets out of the shelters and into loving homes. Let us know what you think! Suggestion & Comment Box
