About Our Rescue Group:

*We are long time rescuers, starting back in 1998. Every year thousands upon thousands of animals die across our country. After doing rescue work for many years and working with all types of animals, we realized that too many people make impulse purchases of small animals for their children, without doing any kind of research on the needs of the animal. These animals can be great pets, but an adult must be responsible for making sure that they are properly cared for. Being parents ourselves, we love to see children have pets, BUT please do your homework before adopting or purchasing one.

*We are a no-kill group. The only time euthanasia is used is when advised by a veterinarian and that is for health related reasons.

*We are rescuers, but we do have limited space available. If we can help you in any way do not hesitate to contact us.

*IF you are positive that there is absolutely no way that you can keep your pet, then we will do what we can to help you find the right home. We can not always take the pet for you, due to limited space, but we will do what we can.

PLEASE NOTE: We are receiving emails from people regarding dogs and cats. We ONLY work with small animals, such as rats, hamsters, gerbils, ferrets, sugar gliders, ect. As much as we love other animals, we do not have the space or setup to accommodate them. Thank you for your understanding.

Come Meet our Pets:

At this time, we do not have a shelter. We simply operate out of our homes. If you are interested in adopting one of our small animals available, we will be happy to send you an adoption application and, once approved, set up a time for you to meet them.

Our Adoption Process:

* If interested in adopting, please email twinoaksrats@hotmail.com for an application. We will respond to you as quickly as possible. If you have not received a response within 72hrs, please email again as we may not have received your inquiry.

*All small animals available for adoption are to be **PETS ONLY**. We do not adopt to anyone with reptiles. We do understand the circle of life, and that snakes need to eat, but these babies are only for pets. A contract will be required at the time of adoption.

****NOTE**** We will offer special adoption events, that may include discounted adoption fees, throughout the year. They will be posted on this page.

Why should you adopt?

small animals can make wonderful pets, and rather than buying a small animal for sale or finding a small animal breeder, adopting a small animal from an animal shelter or rescue organization is the perfect way to add a small animal to your family. Keep in mind, there is a lot you will need to know when you provide a home for a small animal. You will need to learn what to feed them, how much exercise or attention your small animal needs, and many other important things about how to house and care for a small animal. There are different types of small animals including Chinchilla, Degu, Ferret, Gerbil, Guinea Pig, Hamster, Hedgehog, Mouse, Prairie Dog, Rat, Skunk, and Sugar Glider.
