Lovers Not Biters Dog Rescue is a non-profit dog rescue (501(c)(3) dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned dogs from euthanasia in overcrowded high-kill shelters. We are presently operating in Louisiana (New Orleans/Baton Rouge), rescuing dogs from high kill shelters. We also have an educational outreach program in Southern California to help promote spaying/neutering and educating people able the benefits of adopting from shelters and rescues.

Lovers Not Biters Dog Rescue is a California public benefit corporation (501(c)(3) status pending) dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned dogs from euthanasia in overcrowded high-kill shelters. We are presently operating in California (Orange County/Los Angeles) and Louisiana (New Orleans/Baton Rouge), rescuing dogs from high kill shelters.

We do monthly adoption events at City Bark (dog park in city park) and various other locations on the northshore and all over the New Orleans area.
Come on down and meet our adoptable dogs n pups! You just might find your new best friend!

Our Adoption Process:

1. Meet and Greet with the dog and potential new owners
2. Adoption Application completed and references checked
3. Home Visit
4. If both parties agree then they complete an adoption contract and adoption fee is due. Adoption fee varies based on the age of the dog;
2- 6 months $175
6 months - 2 years -$150
2 yrs and up $125
*Adopted dogs and puppies come with vet paperwork, rabies tags, and leash. All dogs/puppies for adoption have been vetted, are up to date on shots, spayed/neutered, and some are microchipped.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
