Dog adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog and you'll have a friend for life! Contact us, or contact another local humane society, animal shelter or SPCA.
I also rescue any others that can fit into available foster homes. Not necessarily old or special needs but need to be out of the high kill shelters.
They are old. They are special needs. They are wonderful pets. Before you decide to adopt please honestly answer these questions to make sure you are right for a senior or special pet. You are adopting them for their benefit not yours.
Do you know they may need to be taken care of and not necessarily thought of as a "pet"?
Can you accept they are set in their ways and to change those ways could be detrimental to their well being?
Do you have the desire to help those left behind when they got too old, too sick or were born with special needs?
Are you ready to take on the expense of caring for a senior or special animal?
Do you understand that most will not be totally house broken or can not make it all day without accidents?
Do you understand none of these animals should be crated except for their own safety?
Are you willing to love the animal unconditionally as they will love you?
Can you understand whatever time is left for them they deserve all you can give them?
Will you be able to accept them as they are forever?
PS: If you can not answer yes to all these questions please do not apply to adopt a senior or special animal. They will not fit into your idea of a "pet" and will only cause heartache for you and the animal.
Our Adoption Process...
We require an application to be filled out. After the application is submitted, we will review it and check references. After the adopter is approved, we will email you back and set up a time for you to meet your new family member. Fees vary depending on the animal, and an adoption contract must be signed at time of adoption.
Why should you adopt?
Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
