Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We serve the NYC area including the 5 boroughs and Long Island. We have had adopters from the entire tri-state area!

About Our Rescue Group:

We rescue dogs from killl shelters here in New York and across the country. Rescue has become a necessity to adopt out animals who would otherwise perish in the shelter system. Shelters are usually tucked away in bad neighborhoods and are generally uninviting. Many people do not visit their local shelters when deciding to adopt a dog or cat. Rescues like Ruff house take dogs out of the shelter and bring them to our facilty where they are cared for by our dedicated volunteers until adopted.

Our Adoption Process:

We charge an adoption fee for all of our dogs to cover the costs of rescuing and caring for these animals. We give all of our rescues a health check up, bring them up to date on their shots and will have them spayed/neutered (age permitting) before they are adopted out. All potential adopters are subject to a home visit and will need a vet reference.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
