There is an application form and a contract to sign. You will need your vet's contact information. Our adoption fees are $250 CAD for dogs. We respond to requests for information within 48 hours.

About S.P.A. des Cantons
- Founded in Spring 2011 by a professional dog trainer Carl Girard, who was recruted by the municipality of Cowansville for his expertise in animal behavior.
- The SPA des Cantons is a non profit organizaion dedicated to eliminating all forms of cruelty to animals and improving their quality of life. We care for lost and abandoned pets, provide animal control services, and work on cruelty prevention.
- In just one year, we've gone from serving 2 municipalities to 20. We started with 1 employee, we now have 9. We began with only a handful of volunteers, they now number over 100.
- We've investigated over 12 kennels and liberated 150 dogs from local puppy mills. We have NEVER euthanized any animal for lack of space.
- In order to successfully continue to accomplish our mission and keep up with the growing demand, we need help.
Presently we are in URGENT need of homes for all our cats and dogs and money to ensure that all our pets are spayed/neutered before they leave.
This is our wish list :
- 14x7 closed trailer, preferably white
- Outdoor runs
- Air conditioning for our quarantine area
- Stainless steel indoor kennels
We would also love to be able to ...
- Offer free sterilization
- Offer free micro chipping
- Have a mobile sterilization clinique And of course we are always in need of money, to sterilize animals and pay for other vet bills.
