Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

Loki Grrl Rescue, Inc. is a foster based rescue, which means we do not have a site for potential adopters to come to see the dogs. Potential adopters can meet the dogs at our adoption events or during the home visit.

About Our Rescue Group:

Loki Grrl Rescue, Inc. is a foster based rescue with foster homes throughout the Central New York region. We rescue puppies and dogs from high kill shelters, 'free to good home' ads and others that come to us through owner surrenders. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome puppies and dogs who have been abused, neglected, chained/penned outside and/or are generally un-socialized in order to place them in loving, responsible and committed forever homes.

We are committed to providing our pets with the best possible care. Every dog adopted from Loki Grrl Rescue will be vetted. This includes:

Spay/neuter
DHLPP, rabies and bordetella vaccines
HW test (age appropriate) & HW preventative
De-worm & de-flea
Microchip

Loki Grrl Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer organization that is incorporated as a nonprofit in New York State. We are not funded by state or municipal funding and do not receive regular monetary donations. Any and all of the costs of rescue beyond the adoption fee are typically covered by the rescuers and in the majority of cases, the $300 fee does not cover the full costs of rescue & care.

Come Meet our Pets:

We are a foster based rescue, so we do not have a central building where our dogs are located for adoption. We are very active within the community and have several events a month where we are out and about with are awesome adoptables in tow. Please check our website: www.lokigrrl.org or our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/lokigrrrl for updates on events and opportunities to meet our pups!

Our Adoption Process:

Potential adopters must first submit an application, which can be found here: http://bit.ly/lokirescue. A Loki Grrl representative will be in touch with you within 1 week of submitting the application. If it is approved, we will call references and bring the dog you're interested in to your home for a home visit. The final adoption decision is made after the home visit.
When an adopter is approved for adoption, the process is finalized by the adopter and a Loki Grrl representative signing an adoption contract. Our adoption fee is $300. Each dog is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated with heartworm and flea preventative.

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
