About I Heart Pits

I Heart Pits is a Non-Profit Organization (currently working on our 501(c)(3) tax exempt status) that is dedicated to bringing social awareness to the public about Pit Bulls & other Bully breeds all around the nation. As we all know, the Bully breeds are constantly being misjudged, mistreated, and deprived justice and rehabilitation. I Heart Pits is a small non-profit organization with limited resouces and our program currently can only accept a minimum number of bully's to train, rehabilitate and re-home until we are financially capable of purchasing a building to inevitably provide a place solely for the salvation of Bully breeds. The objective of our program is to modify behavior problems, socialize, train, and teach each of our rescues to trust and respect their leader, children, and other dogs. We are not a quick turn around rescue, each bully that enters our program stays with us for a minimum of one month unless it has been determined otherwise that they are completely rehabilitated, well socialized, and ready to be adopted into a responsible, worthy home. We can facilitate and help to find forever homes for other unwanted adoptable bullies without behavior/socialization/aggression problems, but the intention of our program is to rescue and rehabilitate the dogs with behavior, aggression, and socialization issues because these bullies are the ones who usually have the most unfortunate fate if they were ever to enter a shelter. When we have the funding to purchase a building to run our operations out of, we intend to hold classes, demonstrations, and seminars with our primary focus on educating the public on how to properly train, control, and understand dogs of the pit bull and bully breed.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
