About Our Rescue Group:

CARES stands for Cedartown Animal Rescue, Education & Sterilization. CARES is all volunteer, non-profit organization. 100% of your donation goes toward helping animals in need. We are a foster based rescue who focus is saving death row animals and placing into approved forever homes, increasing education by going into schools and providing mobile units and low cost spay/neuter options for the general public.

We hold adoption events every weekend at PetSmart in Acworth, GA.

Our Adoption Process:

Application approval and a vet reference are required. Signed contract with all approved adoptions.

Adoption fees for puppies are $225, adults (over 1 year) are $200 and senior dog (over 7 years) are $150. This includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPP, bordetella and rabies, dewormed for any internal parasites, being tested heartworm negative, be spayed/neutered, be micro-chipped and have been examined by a veterinarian to certify that they are healthy. Lifetime registration for the micro-chip as well as 30 days of free pet insurance is also included. In addition, each adopter will go home with a fitted collar, a bag of dog food, and an adoption kit filled with valuable information and coupons.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
