About Our
Rescue
Group:
IMPACT is a 501(3)c non-profit group founded in 1995 with the purpose in mind to save unwanted animals from a life on the street, in a shelter or being euthanized and place them instead in a loving "forever" home that will care for them all of their lives. All IMPACT fosters are unpaid volunteers that foster animals in their own homes and treat them as one of their personal pets while we socialize and train them to become wonderful companions for the person who ultimately adopts them. We do this because every life is valuable to us and someone has to step up to the plate for these little beings that are at the mercy of what humans will or won't do for them.
Come Meet our Pets:
We feature our pets the fourth weekend of the month in person at the Petsmart in Sunset Hills, MO. We are there on Saturday from 10-3 and Sunday from 12-3. We also advertise in a local paper and on Petfinder. We hold our fund raising event every September. We will also bring the pet to the potential adopter or let them visit the foster home on a case-by-case basis.
Our Adoption Process:
$150 for all puppies, pure-breds $200. Potential adopters are interviewed by at least 2 IMPACT volunteers and we must agree that this is the best placement for the specific animal. Dogs must be inside pets only and yards must be fenced. We need to know what the plan is for the animal when the owners are not at home. All adults in the home must be on board about getting the pet. New owner must agree to spay or neuter if the dog is not old enough at adoption Adoption fee includes all shots to-date and the spay and neuter fee if done at one of our vets. They don't have to use our vets, but they would have to pay their vet. If the pet doesn't work out they must return the pet to us. They have to fill out a lengthy application and sign adoption forms.
