Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We serve the residents within Giles County, TN. However, we do adopt out of county.

About Our Rescue Group:

The GCHA is a 501(c)(3) that strives to make a difference in the lives of animals within our rural county in south central TN. We are focused on our Spay/Neuter Program, so that there will be a reduction in the pet overpopulation. Through education, awareness and our low cost spay/neuter programs for Giles County residents, we know that the result will be a huge reduction in the amount of local animals being euthanized.

The Giles County Humane Association lends a voice to those animals who cannot speak for themselves. Our main mission is to reduce the over-population of cats and dogs in our county. However, we are also committed to:
• Saving lives
• Protecting animal welfare
• Promoting humane treatment of animals
• Provide educational resources to the community

Come Meet our Pets:

We do not have a shelter yet. All of our adoptable pets are in local foster homes. We have monthly local adoption events, as well as at the PetSmart store in Spring Hill, TN. If you are interested in meeting one of our furbabies, simply contact us, and we will definitely make it happen! We are an all-volunteer rescue, so please be patient after you contact us, as it may take 48 hours for a response. Thank you!

Our Adoption Process:

We do require interested parties to complete our Adoption Application. We call veterinarian and personal references, and if everything checks out the application is approved. We ask an adoption donation of at least $95 (purebreds are a little more) for all cats, dogs, kittens and puppies. The adoption donation covers all vaccinations, testing, de-worming, and the spay or neuter surgery.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
