Dog adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog and you'll have a friend for life! Contact us, or contact another local humane society, animal shelter or SPCA.
Our dogs come from McNairy County Humane Society in central Tennessee. MCHS works to help reduce the population of unwanted pets by educating the public on responsible pet ownership and financially assisting those in need with the cost of spaying and neutering their pets. They also accept puppies and dogs who have been abandoned through no fault of their own. These wonderful dogs, of all breed mixes and sizes, are so grateful to be adopted!
In June '07, The New York Times came to McNairy County and did a story on the number of unwanted pets in TN. Here's the link: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/30/us/30dogs.html
The McNairy County Humane Society operates entirely on donations.
We are dedicated to placing social, friendly and healthy dogs who are homeless into wonderful homes in the northeast. All dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, on heartworm preventative and flea/tick protection prior to leaving TN. A professional dog transport service brings dogs to New England on a weekly basis. Quiet Corner Dog Adoptions serves as a foster home for some of these wonderful dogs.
Why should you adopt?
Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
