About Our Rescue Group:

Be Fido's Friend was founded in 2011 by a group of five animal advocates and is a 100% volunteer run organization. Our mission is to end the Chicagoland canine homeless population through education, spay and neutering, and partnering of resources to improve the quality of life for dogs in need.

Our Adoption Process:

We match each family with a dog best suited for their situation. All dogs have their own needs, energy levels and are at different stages of training. Upon review of your application, we guide you toward dogs that match your family and lifestyle to ensure the dog receives the most fulfilling, enriched life.

Fill out an adoption application.
A member of the adoption committee will go over your application and contact you with questions.
Once approved, we will set up a meet and greet with potential adoptables.
If the meet and greet goes well, we will set up a time to do a home visit and finalize the adoption. The adoption fee is $300.00. After the adoption is finalized all pertinent documents, tags and medical records will be transferred to the adopter.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
