Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We are a pending non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization located in Dallas, NC, working with our Federal EIN #, and waiting for our approval as a not for profit status from the IRS. We achieved our 501(c)3 non profit corporation status under the laws of the state of North Carolina on 4/1/13. Our current rescue coverage area is throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and parts of Virginia. As soon as possible after coming into our care, our rescued animals receive a medical evaluation, required vaccinations (including but not limited to Distemper, Parvo, Rabies, and Bordetella), they also receive any medical attention the Veterinarian deems necessary to restore them to optimal health, and are spayed or neutered. We will insure that they are in good health or are on their way to a full recovery before adoption. All of our rescued animals are ideally placed in approved FOSTER HOMES and are not kenneled at a facility.. However, if it means saving their life, I will board them in a wonderful boarding facility ONLY until a foster home can be found. This way, the animals receive one on one care, as well as the love and attention that only comes from being in a family environment. We learn their likes, dislikes, and temperament and can address any illnesses or behavior problems quickly. They live indoors with our own pets, as they are our very own.

About Our Rescue Group:

We work to rescue dogs and cats from high kill shelters in NC/SC/GA/VA or from individual situations that put them in need of a forever home. We will place them in an approved foster home until an approved forever home is chosen.

ADOPTION PROCESS

***Three Sisters and a Brother Animal Rescue, Inc WILL NOT, under any circumstances, pull an animal from a shelter for an individual unless that individual has been approved as an adopter by Three Sisters and a Brother Animal Rescue, Inc. This can be accomplished by completing the required Adoption Application and, if approved, agrees to the requirements of care for the animal by signing the Adoption Contract and by paying the required adoption fee and, if required, will pay transportation costs for the animal.

*All adopters must be at least 21 years of age.

**To be considered for any of our animals, you must submit an Adoption Application. No exceptions, EVER. Once the applications are in, we will then look at all of the applications and pick the best possible candidate based on the animal's personality and the type of environment he/she will need to live in to have the best quality of life. We DO NOT rush the process nor set an animal up for failure. We want each home to be for the life of the animal. Please, be patient if you have applied for any of our dogs. Completing this application does not guarantee you can adopt an animal from Three Sisters and a Brother Animal Rescue, Inc. We have the right to reject an applicant based on the information obtained on the application, through a reference or home visit. Our primary goal is for the welfare, health and happiness of an animal we have rescued and saved from being euthanized. These animals have become part of our family and we want to make sure they are loved and taken care of for the remainder of their natural life.

*We will only place animals with INDOOR ONLY homes. Three Sisters and a Brother Animal Rescue, Inc. does NOT approve of animals being kept outdoors 24/7. All of our animals are INDOOR animals ONLY. We reserve the right NOT to adopt to anyone who keeps outdoor animals. The reasons that we are so strongly against OUTDOOR living for dogs are outlined in this article. http://www.pawrescue.org/PAW/PETTIPS/DogTip_BackyardDogs.phpandOUTDOOR living for cats http://www.cat-world.com.au/indoor-vs-outdoor-cats

*Puppies or kittens too young for spay/neuter, rabies or final boosters will need to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated post-adoption at the expense of the adopter. Copies of proof that this has been achieved must be sent to Three Sisters and a Brother Animal Rescue, Inc. when these are achieved.

*We REQUIRE that all other dogs and/or cats within the home are spayed or neutered unless there is a valid medical reason that can be validated by a veterinarian.

We REQUIRE that all other dogs and/or cats within the home are up to date on all vaccinations and can be validated by a veterinarian. (Dogs: DHLPP; Bordatella and Rabies vaccinations/ Cats: FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations).

We REQUIRE that our adopted animals have annual veterinary health check-ups and annual vaccinations. (Dogs: DHLPP; Bordatella and Rabies vaccinations/ Cats: FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations).

We REQUIRE that all other dogs within the home are heart worm tested and placed on heart worm prevention unless reasons for not placing them on heart worm prevention can be validated by a veterinarian.

We REQUIRE our adopted dogs to be placed on heart worm prevention and to be tested for heart worm disease annually.

We REQUIRE our adopted dogs to be appropriately placed on flea/tick prevention.

*If two animals have been adopted together, they cannot be separated. If it does not work out, they will both have to be returned to Three Sisters and a Brother Animal Rescue, Inc. unless Three Sisters and a Brother Animal Rescue, Inc. has approved prior permission for placement by Adopter in writing.

*Adopter is aware that all animals can bite. Adopter agrees to not allow animal to be alone with small children, small animals such as animals or cats unsupervised. Adopter agrees to not allow children to ride, crawl on, or jump on the animal. Adopter understands that animals that are abruptly awakened from sleep can and often do bite. Adopter agrees to get proper training for the animal from a professional if this becomes a problem to prevent further animal bites.

*If adopter has to travel or decides to travel NO animal can be placed in a cargo area of a plane. Cargo areas are not safe for animals. Adopter must either choose a secure and safe way to travel with the animal or make sure the animal is well cared for in the adopter’s absence.

*Meet and greet appointments may be made for the potential adopter to meet the animal once the Adoption Application is approved. It may be required that the potential adopter will need to travel to an arranged location to meet the animal. Are you willing to travel to meet the animal if required by the rescue?

*Due to distance, if an animal is approved for adoption and a transport company is required, Three Sisters and a Brother Animal Rescue, Inc. will provide you with different options. However, it will be the responsibility of the adopter to arrange and pay for the transport of the animal from their foster home to the home of the adopter. Do you agree to assume this responsibility?

**We require that all adopted dogs and/or cats are micro-chipped within 45 days of adoption. The name of the company and the microchip registration number must be sent to Three Sisters and a Brother Animal Rescue, Inc.

**We require that all adopted animals be given a fair chance to succeed in his/her new home. You must agree to give the newly adopted animal at least one to two weeks of transition time prior to asking to return the animal to the rescue.

**** We require that all adopted animals be given a fair chance to succeed in his/her new home. If an adopted animal requires obedience and/or behavior training, you must agree to employ a trainer or training classes and to utilize all available resources prior to returning a dog to Three Sisters and a Brother Animal Rescue, Inc.

** Once possession of the animal is accepted by the adopter, adoption fees are non-refundable.

**It is highly recommended that all puppies, animals, kittens and cats adopted from Three Sisters and a Brother Animal Rescue, Inc. be taken to the veterinarian of the adopter’s choice for a check-up within 72 hours of the date of the signed contract.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
