Pets at Our Rescue Group:

Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

All of South Florida.
Please note that we DO work with out-of-state adopters! However, we do not allow our dogs to be ‘shipped’ via third-party transport or to fly in the cargo area of an airplane. Instead, we ask that you travel to South Florida and drive the dog back home personally (or fly in the cabin of a plane with you in the case of a very small dog). We have had adopters do this from as far away as New Jersey, Arizona and even Oregon. We realize not everyone agrees with this policy, but we feel strongly that these dogs have been traumatized enough and must be handled with care until they can rebuild trust in humans again. Thank you for understanding.

About Our Rescue Group:

Our Mission is to rescue dogs that have been abandoned in the Everglades and the surrounding areas of rural SW Miami-Dade. We heal them and show them that not all humans are bad and that love and a warm bed are just around the corner. Over 2,000 dogs and 60 cats have been rescued by our group in the Everglades area (Florida City, Homestead and the Redlands) and throughout SE Florida.
We also work to raise awareness about this brutal reality happening right in our community, with the hope that our message will result in more responsible and humane decisions by dog owners.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
