Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

FOCAS (Friends of the Community Animal Society) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), volunteer organization. Our volunteers raise funds for sick animal veterinary care, provide foster care of sick and orphaned animals, and provide community education.
We serve the Memphis Metro area including Bartlett, Raleigh, Millington, Germantown and Collierville.

About Our Rescue Group:

FOCAS (Friends of the Community Animal Society) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), volunteer organization. Our volunteers raise funds for sick animal veterinary care, provide foster care of sick and orphaned animals, and provide community education.
If you are interested in volunteering or becoming a foster parent, call the FOCAS President or email focasrescue@yahoo.com. We are always in need of foster parents, especially to bottle feed and care for the sick ones that need special care.
OUR MISSION
The purposes of this corporation shall be:
1. To provide volunteer care and foster homes for homeless, unwanted and neglected animals in the community of Memphis, Tennessee and surrounding areas.
2. To promote responsible pet ownership, particularly in the areas of over-population (spay-neuter), pet neglect and pet abuse.
3. All animals are placed in foster homes until they are adopted.

Come Meet our Pets:

We are at Hollywood Feed in Bartlett on every second and fourth Saturday each month from 1-4. If you would be interested in helping show the cats or dogs, please call Julie at 901-412-2627.

Our Adoption Process:

Anyone wishing to adopt an animal must fill out an application and an adoption contract. The application is reviewed before the adoption is approved. FOCAS reserves the right to decline an adoption contract. The adoption fee (which barely covers the vet costs) is usually $60.00 for cats, and $75.00 and up for dogs. This includes up-to-date shots, testing, deworming and spay/neuter. If it was not for donations, we would not be able to spay and neuter the animals we now have in foster care. So, please keep the donations coming so we can keep spaying/neutering and rehabilitating the animals.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help get homeless pets out of the shelters and into loving homes. Let us know what you think! Suggestion & Comment Box
