Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We are based out of Pinellas County, FL and serve the needs of the low-income senior citizens that may need help with providing food and basic help for their furry loved ones.

About Our Rescue Group:

Based on a recently conducted survey, we found that some of our Meals On Wheels (MOW) clients are challenged to provide food for their pets. Often, hunger can become a mutual affliction - especially when leaving the house isn't an option. Some homebound seniors may even forego their own meal so their pets can eat. We at Senior Pet Connection thought that was unacceptable and we are pleased to announce the launch of our new website and our new pet program to make sure that our MOW client's pets have a nutritious meal, too! To many homebound seniors, having a pet is a source of companionship and comfort. The Senior Pet Connection program is designed to give our MOW and other senior clients a little help with cost-free pet food and supplies to make sure that it isn't an added burden to maintain that important bond between the pet owner and the pet. We have developed a comprehensive database that includes information on each client's pet such as the type of pet, weight, age, etc. Most importantly, our database also includes the type of food the pet requires, or is accustomed to, so we can try to provide the same type of food and avoid any disruption to the pet's diet.

Our Adoption Process:

In order to adopt a pet from Senior Pet Connection, you must be able to provide a safe and loving home for the animal. The initial process requires a small background check (at no additional expense) and a possible home inspection. The adoption donation is on a sliding scale dependent upon the adopters current income and ability to care for the animal, which general ranges around $100.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help get homeless pets out of the shelters and into loving homes. Let us know what you think! Suggestion & Comment Box
