Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! Contact us, or contact another local humane society, animal shelter or SPCA.
The Devoted Barn is one of our programs running in Monroe County that shelters abused and neglected animals. It is managed by one of our board members with an army of volunteers who share the care and rehabilitation of horses, pigs, goats, sheep, feral dogs, llamas and some cats.
Because it is not the animals fault that their previous owner did not spay/neuter or keep them safe from harms way. We want every animal to feel the love that each and every one of them so deserves.
Because we are a small volunteer only organization; donations, volunteers and fosters are always in high demand and greatly appreciated!
You can sign up to help us thru Kroger Community Rewards and use DEVOTED FRIENDS ANIMAL SOCIETY INC.Organization No.:91559.
We are registered with Amazon Smile to receive donations when orders are placed if you select us as your charity.
igive.com also will donate to us if you use their page to select vendors and place orders. Must select Devoted Friends Animal Society, Inc. as your charity of choice.

DOGS: The adoption fee is $200 after completion of the adoption application, home visit and interview. If the dog is over 5 months of age the adoption fee includes heartworm test, rabies vaccine, spay/neuter done, and distemper vaccines (if needed).
If you are adopting a puppy under 4 months of age, there is an additional CASH deposit of $80 which is returned when proof of spay/neuter is provided to DFAS within the required time frame (which is part of the adoption contract).
CATS: Adoption fees generally are $50 for unaltered cats/kittens and an additional $65 CASH ONLY deposit required until proof of spay/neuter between 4 and 5 months of age has been provided to DFAS.. Kitties who are already spay/neutered are $100 for spayed/neutered cats/kittens.
All cats and kittens are up-to-date on age-appropriate shots and FELV/FIV tested if they are over 5 months of age. We test the mom of kittens if she is with them.
Why should you adopt?
Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
