Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

Animals listed here are either rescued from the Stockton, California pound or from the streets of Stockton and San Joaquin Counties, or are listed for re-homing to prevent their being surrendered to the Stockton pound. I have transported dogs from the central valley to the Bay Area, northern California, and Washington.

About Our Rescue Group:

Central California Pets Alive is a grassroots advocacy effort to reform Stockton Animal Services.
Our goals are to advocate for animal services in Stockton and San Joaquin that commits to saving every healthy and treatable animal. The No Kill Equation, implemented comprehensively and with integrity, has enabled over 75 communities to save every healthy and treatable pet brought to animal shelters, including open-admission shelters. The No Kill Equation works in all types of communities. Saving every homeless pet is not a matter of money but of will and leadership.
We are not a 501(c)3 organization, though we work with several rescues. Our advocacy has led us to rescue animals from Stockton Animal Services and strays. We also sometimes feature "courtesy posts"--for information, contact

Come Meet our Pets:

All pets are in foster homes or boarding and are available to meet by appointment.

Our Adoption Process:

The adoption process involves a phone or email screening and home visit. Most pets have no re-homing fee or adopters can choose a donation amount. The sole purpose of listing animals is to find responsible, loving homes. The contract is a very basic document outlining that the new owner will provide all needed care and that if the owner is ever unable to care for the animal, she/he will not be surrendered to a pound, and that I will take him/her back or help re-home that pet.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
