About Our Rescue Group:

We are a not- for- profit home based rescue group, and Sanctuary for Shelter Dogs. We use all donations and Adoption fees to care for the animals in our rescue! We are an all volunteer rescue. All dogs in our care are vetted and are part of a big family of fur-babies. They are all housetrained and will have been started on basic obedience. We have been saving shelter dogs since 2001. Please help and Adopt, not Buy!! Shelter dogs lives depend on us!!!! Our local shelter is city run, and is a euthanizing shelter.

Our Adoption Process:

There is a contract and application to adopt thru Southern Charmers. The adoption fee is $250 for all dogs. All dogs come altered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested, on monthly preventative, and flea topical. We crate train and housebreak the dogs for adoption if needed. Basic training is also started. Teeth are checked on adult dogs and are taken to vet if needed for cleaning.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
