Pets at Our Rescue Group:
Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:We are a registered charity and are located in Durham Region local to the GTA and most of southern Ontario
About Our Rescue Group:We are a registered charity and we've been rescuing dogs for 10 yrs. We rehabilitate dogs with behaviour problems and love to match people with great dogs.
We are well helped by www.ForTheLoveOfDogWellnessCentre.ca for raw diet and wellness to help these dogs
We love what we do cuz we get to hang around with dogs all day and educating people on dog behaviour is the most fun too!
We hold seminars in behaviour training and do everything we can t make an adoption work.
We have set procedures in place to follow to get a dog from us.
Come Meet our Pets:We are by appointment ONLY.
Our appt times are 10:30 & 11am 7 days a week except Thursdays which is 8:30 & 9am.
As essentially all our dogs are here vs in different foster homes we have developed a system for adoption appt that needs to be followed. No children - including adult children living at home - come to the initial appt for example. Parents need full concentration on finding the right dog for younger kids and teens and adult children have a different agenda re a dog.
Our Adoption Process:We require an application be filled out before we will make an appt. You show serious intent to adopt when you take the time to fill out the app and you will get a fast response. We have 15-50 dogs to care for on any given day but we have all the time in the world for people who have filled out an application. Get your app here.
http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/ON258.html Please use the app as your introduction of yourself to us as people we'd want to give a dog to.
Our dogs are all spayed or neutered (unless to young - see note at bottom), have full vaccines, dewormed, behaviourally assessed and rehabilitated.
NOTE: Puppies too young to be fixed are adopted out on a FOSTER TO ADOPT basis. The adoption is NOT complete until you provide proof of spay/neuter/shots whatever is needed.
Our adoption fee is $450 (puppies included).
We require fenced in homes where applicable, a one month visit after adoption as well and there is a 24hr cooling off period before taking a dog home.
