About Our Rescue Group:

We are a newly formed rescue organization dedicated to saving the unwanted, abandoned and abused German Shepherds from unnecessary death simply because they are unwanted. We provide these wonderful creatures with the love and patience that they so deserve. We provide safe foster homes, where they receive not only the necessary medical attention that they need, but, they are also in a loving environment. The foster homes bring life back to dogs that have about reached the stage of giving up. From the foster homes, the dogs are placed with families that are committed to providing a loving home and the process continues as each dog becomes a member of the family and thrives in that environment. What could have been a very sad and tragic end for these dogs, transforms into a happy new beginning for both the German Shepherd dog and their new family.

Our Adoption Process:

Thank you for considering adopting a German Shepherd dog. We are exited that you are committed to this wonderful and noble breed. GSHR is here to help you with your quest in finding the right dog for you.

Our adoption process consists of a review of completed applications by our screeners, a vet check, a phone interview, and a home visit. This process can take several weeks. Please be patient!

Once approved, a meet and greet between the potential adopter and the foster will be arranged. The foster parent has the final say on who adopts their foster dog as they know the dog best. Again, please be patient as we want to ensure that we have the right match the first time.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
