Running A'Muck to the Rescue is a rescue group located in the Los Angeles area. specifically the west San Fernando Valley. We specialize in at-risk newborns and those cats & kittens with behavioral problems.

About Our Rescue Group:

For many years I worked as a feline behavioral consultant. I became interested in cat behavior problems when one of my own cats had a sudden personality change and the vet didn't know what to do.
Physically she but she was fine, but she was obviously and quite suddenly a very different cat.
This was almost 20 years ago and very little was known about feline emotional and mental life, let alone how to correct any behavior problems that arose. From that point forward I have made it my mission to learn all that I could; reading too many clinical textbooks to name, behavioral advise books, keeping abreast of all the latest studies and most importantly all the observations and experience I've learned and gathered along the way.So after I started giving out advise and doing house calls for several years ago under the name 'Running A'Muck'.

It wasn't until this year that I saved enough money earned from my consulting to start 'Running A'Muck to the Rescue'. See after many years working as a behavioral consultant I saw the many of the same behavior problems over and over again.
In my group we take our jobs seriously, making sure we chart everything they eat, drink and address any medical issues along the way. We also focus on their mental well- being, especially during a kitten's 'sensitive stage'. It lasts usually between 4-11 weeks.
My hope is that with 'Running A'Muck to the Rescue' we can catch these common behavior problems early on, thus leading to less kittens and cats being turned in to shelters for problems that are easily fixed.

Our Adoption Process:

We want to make our adoption process as easy as possible. If you want to make one or more of our cats a part of your family, we ask that first to do a few things to start the adoption process. First please fill out our adoption application. If approved to move forward, then we ask you allow us to do a home visit.
Please understand we are not there to judge you or your home. All we want to do is make sure is that the animal is going to a safe place, as well as point out any potential dangers to the prospective families, especially new pet owners.
After going over your application, visiting your home, the last step is to fill out and sign our adoption contract. This form states clearly what you can expect from us and what is expected from you. The adoption fees is $125.00 per cat, If you adopt a second cat the second adoption fee is only $100.00. They come to you spay/neutered, current on all their vaccinations, and micro-chipped. We also provide you a USB drive that contains all their medical history, how much and what they ate everyday, any notes or milestones, all photos we've taken of the cat, and the cat's paw prints in clay from when they were little.(We think it's the 'little tings' are so important,)

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
