About Our Rescue Group:

A Dog's Tale Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with Feathers Foundation and our county shelters to save animals from the euthanasia list and provide the medical care, rescue and rehabilitation some need with the ultimate goal of re-homing to a FUREVER home. We also rescue stray animals and provide support to our communities to educate the public about spaying and neutering companion animals and ending animal neglect and cruelty in Maricopa County.

Our Adoption Process:

Potential Adopter directed to fill out Adoption application online,

2.
Upon approval by A.C., potential adopter is contacted via email
and phone to set up Meet and Greet with dog at upcoming
adoption event. (Potential adopter and dog to be present at
event; if foster is unable to bring dog to event, a volunteer will
transport dog.)
3.
Upon approval of potential adopter during meet and greet at
adoption event, home visit is scheduled.
4.
Home visits to be conducted by approved home-check volunteer.

Upon approval of home visit, current foster or volunteer will
deliver dog to potential adopter for 1-week trial sleepover. Full
Adoption Fee collected via post dated check or cash.
7.
8.
ľ Potential Adopter signs Sleepover Terms and Agreement.
9.
Upon completion of 1-week trial, potential adopter will return
with dog to the next scheduled adoption event. Adoption fee is
processed and contract is executed (Contract requested to be
pre filled out) Photo is taken with adopter and adopter is sent
home with care package

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
