Camp Hot Diggity Dog's adoption process

Additional adoption info

You must be comfortable answering questions about your family and home life before an adoption can take place. You must be willing to sign an adoption contract and be able to accommodate a home visit for the delivery of your new pet. If you do not own your home, you must provide evidence that owning a pet of your desire is allowed. You must have a dog crate of appropriate size to accommodate your new family member's transition into your home; if adopting a dog.
We do not adopt animals out to people that intend to get dogs just for protection, or that will remain in the yard only. We also do not adopt animals out to minors. We believe that the adoption of animals is a pivotal decision and much thought should go into it. Adoption fees range from $50-$100.

About Camp Hot Diggity Dog

We are a non-profit rescue located in Manor, Texas. Many of the animals come from the Manor countryside, but we also help rescue animals from all over Texas and beyond. We believe that the spaying and neutering of pets is key in reducing the homeless pet population, so part of what we do is help low-income families obtain these surgeries for their pets with the help of other non-profits in this area.
The animals that are rescued will often reside on the 10 acre farm of the Crawford family. We do not have a high tech kennel facility. It is very much a home grown operation. The dogs live in small packs of 3-5 dogs that have proven they can maintain a harmonious relationship. The dogs are cared for (fed, exercised and socialized) daily. We utilize barns and dog houses to shelter many of the dogs from unfriendly weather. There are rooms inside the Crawford family home where the more fragile animals are kenneled and cared for. The ultimate goal is to adopt these animals into forever families.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
