Areas Paws and Hands United serves

We are an all volunteer ran foster based rescue focusing on animals in dire need of medical attention or in situations that are harmful to their well being. We take in animals that have medical needs, have been neglected or abused and those that are less desirable like pitbulls. We take our dogs for regular visits at a local nursing home and our dogs also go to a trainer to work on any issues they may be having.

Additional adoption info

We require an application, have the person meet the pet whether at their home or somewhere else, do a home visit and check references. Once all this is done we decide if this is the right home for the pet and we take the animal to their home and get them situated before we leave them. Our fees vary. We charge $175 for puppies, $125 for cat and kittens and $125 for adult dogs. We also have dogs going through Canine Good Citizens training so they have extensive training and we charge $200 for them due to the amount of work we put in them.

About Paws and Hands United

We are focused on the quality of the animal and not the quantity. We aren't able to take a lot of animals due to lack of foster homes, but the animals we do have get the best care and training we can get.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
