Neverending Stories Animal Rescue, Inc.'s adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our rescue requires a foster contract for every animal placed with a foster family. Our foster animals are fostered by agreement between the rescue and the foster family, and the rescue retains all rights to the foster animal until such time as there is a fully executed adoption contract and payment of any adoption fee for that animal. Our foster families do not have the right to adopt out, move, board, or otherwise transfer a foster animal without the express permission of the rescue. If you would like to apply to be a foster family with our rescue, please visit our website at www.nsrescue.com and fill out a foster application.

If you are interested in adopting any of our available animals, please fill out an adoption application on our website at www.nsrescue.com. After we receive your application, and if you are selected to proceed with the adoption process, one of our members will contact you to set up a visit between you and the animal at your home. A home inspection will also be conducted at that time. If you are then approved to adopt the animal, you will be notified by a member of the rescue, and provided with an adoption contract, as well as instructions to pay the adoption fee. Our fees are as follows:

Dogs:

Age < 1year = $300.00
Age 1-8 years = $250.00
Age 8+ years = $200.00

Cats:

Age <1 = $100.00
Age 1-7 = $75.00
Age 8+ = $50.00

All animals are fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The adoption fee helps us to defray the cost of veterinary care. In the event that the animal cannot be vaccinated, spayed, or neutered due to health reasons, this will be noted on their adoption profile.

Once we have a fully executed adoption contract, and receipt of the adoption fee, the animal will be transferred to your care. If at any time, you can no longer care for the animal, you are required to immediately notify the rescue, and allow us to resume ownership of the animal. As a term of your adoption contract with the rescue, you are never permitted to give up one of our animals to a shelter or another rescue, unless you have first contacted us, and we are unable to resume caring for the animal.

Our goal is to place every one of our animals in loving, permanent homes. We take this very seriously, and therefore our application process may take some time. Please be patient with us while we process your application, and we will provide frequent updates as to the status of your application.

Thank you for your interest, and we hope to help you find a loving companion animal for your home.

Neverending Stories Animal Rescue, Inc.'s adopted pets

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Bear, DE.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
