My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet girl with beautiful green eyes and a gentle disposition, is looking for a quiet place to call home. She's pretty in pink, her nose, that is. It is the most perfectly pink nose you've ever seen. Green eyes, pink nose, it's a lovely combination that's as pretty as flowers in a garden.

Near the top of Tessa's list of "things to do today" is finding a sunny spot to lay in. Scratching posts also get a lot of time and attention from her. And she loves to explore kitchen and bathroom cabinets, too. She's very fond of catnip and loves, loves, LOVES to play. In fact, it doesn't take much effort to start a game with her. And she would greatly benefit in having daily playtime.
She will sleep at the foot of your bed at night because she wants to be near you

One way Tessa shows affection is to rub up against your legs. But be very careful to keep an eye on her and pay attention to where she is before walking, because she will walk right in front of your feet. This seems to be her only bad habit.

She is as quiet as a whisper, so you will see her before you hear her coming your way. That's not to say she doesn't talk. She does, just not very much or very loud. What she does do quite often is purr, usually when you are petting her.  She likes being petted very much, thank you. She will let you pick her up for short periods of time, but gets restless if held too long. Although she's trusting enough to let herself be turned onto her back where you will find she has a very soft, velvety tummy.

Tessa's very shy at present. Her first instinct is to hide when someone new enters the house.  Loud voices and sudden movements frighten her into flight mode. So she would not do well with small children in the house. She's really very sweet and given the right situation has the potential to grow into a more affectionate and secure kitty.

She's had a rough start in life. Found living in a neighborhood park, she was frightened, underweight and hungry. (Not having enough food for a long period of time may explain why she loves to eat.) Her ear has been clipped as a feral, but she is definitely NOT feral. She may have been abandoned and found company with other homeless kitties.
Her life before her rescue is a mystery.

Tessa is ready for a long life of love, sun and fun! If that's your idea of the good life, then you and Tessa already have something in common.
