My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Leona is a smart, beautiful 6-7 year , brindle Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound mix. She weighs about 78 pounds and is good with other dogs (especially larger ones). She is potty trained and up to date with vaccinations. She is affectionate and loves to cuddle with her humans.

Leona’s Foster Mom says what she likes most about her is “She is a very gentle and loving girl. She adores people and only wants to please. She listens very well and is very smart”. She knows the commands come, stay, wait and sit.

Leona loves to play with other dogs, go for walks and car rides. One of her favorite things is to lay in the sun in the yard and to take naps on her big dog bed. She likes to play with her toys and balls and is a mellow, easy going girl.

Leona is crate trained but is very well behaved in the house. She should not be crated for long periods of time. She needs to be able to move around and keep her circulation going.

Leona is excellent walking on a leash. She likes to be walked daily to stay limber . A lot of us humans can relate to that! She will not be a good running dog but is a perfect lady on walks.

Leona would love a person who works from home at least part of the time or an active retired person. If possible, she would love another dog with which to play and keep her company and a nice spot to enjoy the sun!

Leona came to us due to a divorce in her family and through no fault of hers.
