Barry's Story...
Barry is a puppy mill dog. Director Greg Willey ventured down to Amish Country to save Barry and many others. All need socialization, training and most of all love. Puppy Mill dogs are meant for breeding. They have no other use to the breeder. Many have never experienced being outside much less being in a loving home. It takes a special person or family to adopt one of these dogs. They will take many months to trust and be comfortable in a home setting. They are very scared but not nippy or mean. Many are seniors and there are many different breeds available. It's probably best if these dogs are adopted by an adult household or one with older children. Barry is 8 years old and weighs 9 lbs.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barry, a Elyria Pomeranian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pomeranian for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Pomeranian dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pomeranian breeders who help with Pomeranian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
