My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Baxter is a very handsome, friendly and affectionate boy. He loves attention and enjoys bringing his toy to greet you. He has been raised in a family setting with other dogs and young children. He is also fine with cats and just ignores them. He is a gorgeous dog that has been well loved and cared for but through an unfortunate accident he was no longer able to stay with his family. He is currently 3 years old.

Here is what his foster family had to say:

Baxter is totally awesome!! He loves everyone and is good with our other dogs and just ignores our cat. His short coat shines and he is the picture of health. Everyone who meets him believes he is the nicest Boston Terrier they have ever met.

Baxter is great in the home and doesn't get into anything he shouldn't. He plays with his own toys and loves it if you will play a game of tug-o-war with him. He seems to be fine amusing himself but he sure likes to come cuddle with you on the couch and would prefer that you allow him to sleep with you at night. He doesn't like being in the crate or away from his people and will cry. He knows some basic commands such as sit and he walks very nicely on leash. He is house trained. He enjoys going for rides in the car and is very good about staying in the back seat but he does like to stand on the hump and watch out the window.

Baxter was passed around to a few homes before he was rescued by Ugly Mutts and in that time he got pretty confused. He appeared to be a little shy when he first meets new people but warms up within seconds once he sees everything is okay. Then he runs and gets a toy and comes back to you wanting to play. He will walk around with his kong bone in his mouth, talking to you all the while which is really cute. He does snore at night and makes the usual huffing noises like most Boston Terriers.

He seems to get along well with everyone however he did have one episode where he showed some aggression over food with our other dog so if you have another dog it is best to feed them separately. Also, if another dog is growling or trying to attack him, he will stand up for himself so another friendly dog would be the best choice to put him with or he would do well as the only dog in the home. He would be fine with children of any age and was used to sleeping in bed with a 4 year old boy.

If you think Baxter would fit well into your family situation, please submit an application for consideration.
