Spice's Story...
Meet Spice, a hound mix puppy who will be about 12 weeks old on December 12, weighing in at just over 6 pounds. He came to us along with his sister Sugar, just in time for the holidays! Although Spice is a new arrival, we can tell you he is very sweet, very friendly, and very much a cuddly little guy! Stay tuned as we learn more about him.

We don't know anything about Spice's mother or father, or how big he will be when fully grown. Since he's so young, Spice needs a family where someone is home part or all day to finish his potty-training as well as keep him exercised and socialized.

You can meet this little guy at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, anytime during store hours 7 days a week. (847-251-6750 www.wilmettepetcenter.com). Although you may want to adopt him on the spot, please know that you will have to go through the application process first.

Spice's adoption fee of $350 includes: vet exam, flea preventative, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, microchip, deworming and neuter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spice, a Mt. Prospect Hound (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Mt. Prospect, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Mt. Prospect.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt. Prospect already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt. Prospect breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt. Prospect paves the way for another one to be saved.
