Rusty's Story...
This handsome young man is around 9 to 10 months old, is Medium in size, walks on a leash, sits when asked, he appears to be a very sweet & loving young man, very active, happy, full of love & fun, needs training, playful, and is a special boy that is in need of a family to love.

Rusty's owner adopted Rusty without having a well fenced yard, they found out that herding dogs need room to run and are working dogs, they left Rusty in their house while away and Puppy Rusty did have some fun while inside the home, Rusty needs to have a job, training and room to run and work., he's a very smart boy, The owner said that Rusty was a very sweet dog that enjoyed rides in the car and does well around livestock while in their care.

Dawn gave a little test by looking in Rusty's mouth, pulling on his ears and tail, holding his paw and giving him a little kiss and hug. Rusty appeared to past the test with no problems, he just wanted to play and have fun. Like all of our shelter dogs, we suggest a well fenced yard for Rusty to play and be safe in. We feel he may make an outstanding loyal family member & loyal hard working companion. If you wish, Rusty can be tested around Dogs & Cats here at the shelter.

Act quickly to adopt Rusty. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Grass Valley Australian Cattle Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Grass Valley, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog puppy from a breeder in Grass Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grass Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grass Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grass Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
