found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Here is what else the foster family had to say:
Gizmo is one of the sweetest dogs we have fostered in the last 4 years. She just wants to be with you. When she is happy she has the cutest tic..she licks (the air) even if she is running outside in the grass she does it while licking. Maybe she is making up for the fact that she just has a tiny little tail. She loves to go for walks although she isn’t speedy by any means. She is a wonderful walking companion for someone who is just out for a stroll, maybe a senior or child. She is blind in one eye but it doesn’t effect her except for running a little diagonally. LOL
When she first got here we saw that she was really overweight and it was obvious she was being fed a lot of people food by her excitement when we clean off plates after a meal. In just a week she had already changed and had lost some of the extra weight by us just keeping her on a good dog food.
Gizmo loves everyone! Regardless of age or gender, friend or stranger, she is affectionate and loving with anyone that will give her some attention. She is not interested in playing with other dogs and barks when the younger dogs get to rowdy with each other. She ignores the cats. She would be fine with another dog but not a playmate to one. Great for a senior dog friend. Her favourite thing to do is to lie beside you on the couch.
Gizzy is well behaved in the home (she can't reach anything). She is fully house trained and goes to the door when she wants out. She does go in her crate but we haven’t been using it much. She has been left out while we are gone with no problems. She is leash trained and rides well in the car. Gizmo aka Gizzy aka Miss Chubby McWaddles still needs to lose some weight. I don’t think this will be hard as long as she is eating the right amount of a good quality dog food with no human food snacks.
I think Gizmo could go to almost any home. Due to her low activity she would be great for a senior or in an apartment but I also think because she is such an easy to care for dog (house trained, small, easy on leash and super sweet) that she would be wonderful for a child who is old enough to take on most of the responsibility of caring for a dog. She would love to go for little runs in the park to help her shed some weight and get her in a healthy condition again. And she would love some tummy rubs in your bed but sleeps nicely beside the bed in her own dog bed if that’s what you prefer.
If you think you could give Gizmo a loving home, please submit an application for consideration.
