Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Poppy and my foster mom calls me her little sun goddess because I love to lay in the grass and bask in the sun! My life didn't start out so great, I was always very hungry and had a bum leg that really just got in my way a lot and also hurt sometimes, but that is in the PAST and I'm only moving forward!
I am about 1.5-2 years old and weigh about 38 lbs and shouldn't get much bigger. I love other dogs but am a little shy at first of new people. Treats and pets win me over quickly! I do like kids a lot. I am a lover and enjoy being next to my people and giving kisses. Foster mom says we are working on potty training and I almost have that down, but I am already kennel trained.
I suffered a really bad trauma to my front leg that basically ripped the nerve apart, rendering my leg useless. When foster mom found me I had been like that for awhile and the Doctor said the best thing to do was amputate the leg. I couldn't agree more and get around so much better now!
I'm a very low heartworm positive but am currently undergoing treatment. Foster mom thinks I would get along with cats too, but because of some of the naughty dogs at this house she can't have any to test me with, but I have shown no signs of prey drive. We hope to hear from you soon and appreciate you reading my bio. Thanks!
